Forensic Workshops Training ProgramsIFS offers several types of workshop programs designed to meet the needs of the client.Basic Evidence Technician School - Two Week SchoolThis is a comprehensive two week school that teaches the basic skills required for an officer to work in the field as an Evidence Technician. The areas covered are wide-ranging and will provide the student with an excellent foundation and understanding of forensic science and its role in criminal investigations. {More Details} Host AgencySmaller agencies or agencies unable to make their personnel available for an agency-wide session can host a multiple agency workshop. As a host, the client will be required to provide the necessary training facilities and in return will receive complimentary seats in the class. The host agency will also have access to on-site assessment as described in Agency-Wide Training.Available training programs run from one to five days. Click here for a listing of programs. Agency-Wide TrainingA number of our clients have told us that they feel a great benefit is obtained by having all or the majority of their personnel exposed to the same material at the same time. In these instances, IFS will provide training for the client requiring only a minimum of five students. (Click on the links above for the training programs available). These forensic classes will be tailored specifically for the client based on the equipment that the client agency uses on a day-to-day basis. An on-site visit to the client for the purpose of determining equipment availability and needs will be performed if requested.* At the end of the session, a written assessment will be completed. This assessment will include recommendations for changes in equipment or practices if needed. Structured In-Service TrainingSimilar in concept to our Agency-Wide Training program, this workshop program is meant to provide an agency with a structured in-service training program. IFS instructors will work closely with an agency's training director or forensic services coordinator to structure training classes that will be the most beneficial in building the skill and confidence level of the client's personnel. Workshops presented from one session to the next are designed to dovetail together allowing critical skills to be continually developed. Ideally, this program will be carried out over a minimum time period of two years. During this time we will provide additional support to the client in the form of equipment needs assessment and policy/procedure review for no additional charge.
*On-site assessments are provided at additional cost. For more information regarding forensic training classes please contact IFS via phone or e-mail.Copyright 2001-2008
